Born in 1955 and a fisherman since he was six years old, Tommy entered--and won--his first fishing tournament in 1983. He will never forget that time on Hubbard Creek Lake and his prize money of $1000. His second tournament, on Oak Creek Lake, netted him not just a big fish, but $750 and a first place trophy. Back in those days, that was big tournament money.
2007 is Tommy's first year on tour. He is currently fishing the BASS Masters Central, Skeeter Bass Champs and FLW tours. Through the years he took enough time off from fishing to pursue a career as a home builder and to to enjoy his family. He has passed the knowledge and skills learned from his father to his children, Brandon, 26; Colten, 16; and Morgan, 13. All three love to fish. Tommy's hobbies include hunting and golf as well as fishing.
A 13 pound 6 ounce bass caught in Florida waters is the biggest fish he has landed so far. A recent catch of an 11 pound one ounce bass in Lake Amistad, while not as big, was equally exciting.
What does Tommy like best about fishing? Its the challenge! Tommy says he learns something new every time he goes out. His goal is to fish with the pros in The Bass Masters Classic and the Bass Masters Elite tours. |
